Scalp Exfoliating

Your scalp is a living piece of skin that requires love & care just like any other part of your body.

Scalp Exfoliation is a very important part of ensuring that we are creating the perfect environment for our hair to grow. We can spend hundreds of euro on products to encourage our hair to grow, but unless we are actively creating an environment for those products to do their work, we will be actively fighting against achieving our goal.

I want you to think of all the elements our scalps are exposed to; dead skin cells, pollution, oils, dry shampoo (on those rare occasions) all of these will form a build-up on our scalp. If we are trying to encourage new hairs to grow from our scalp, this build-up will make it next to impossible for that to happen. If you think about your scalp as the flower-bed in your garden, you wouldn’t leave a layer of build-up on top of the soil and hope that the flowers grow through it. We need to make sure our scalps are clean and clear to encourage new baby hairs to grow through.

Scalp Exfoliating is the use of exfoliants to remove the build-up and excess cells from the scalp. Regular scalp exfoliation is key to healthy hair growth and can be especially beneficial to those with; Dandruff, Oily Scalp & Dry Scalp.

Scalp Exfoliants are a must have in any haircare routine our absolute favourite is – Bye Bye Build Up.

Science has come a long way and so has the Skinification of the scalp – you wouldn’t use rough beaded exfoliators on your face, don’t use them on your scalp. Even if brands say they are biodegradable, beads will cause irritation and abrasions to the scalp. Try, like skin care, and lean on more active ingredients when it comes to exfoliation of the scalp. Therarx is the perfect example!
